We recorded our first video episode of Cast of Dads during South By Southwest (SXSW), the interactive, music and film festival. Jeff, CC and Brad were together in Austin, so Michael and I joined in via video, from San Francisco and New York, respectively. As you’ll quickly see from the video, we jury-rigged a couple of Macs with video Skype to bring our virtual heads directly to the conversation table. (I truly felt like Max Headroom.) Topics? We tackled strategies for keeping families together during business travel; the Northeast snowstorm; and the “right mix” of scheduled activities to produce well-rounded, responsible kids. This was a special video episode, and we’ll be back next time with our regular audio podcast.

Cast of Dads is a group of podcasting and blogging dads who gather to gab about fatherhood. The cast of dads includes C.C. Chapman, Jeffrey Sass, Max Kalehoff, Michael Sheehan, and Brad Powell, who collectively represent 13 kids from the youngest of babies to full grown adults. Each of them brings a unique perspective to being a father.
Hi Max –
I've been listening to Cast of Dads since the first episode, so it was great to watch this video episode with everyone present. Thanks for your input regarding balance between structure and freedom within a child's life. As the father of a three year-old daughter, it's something I need to be reminded of. And yes, you were right the first time: “our mess is a world…” 🙂
I too am a Westchester County-based podcaster. Crazier still, I live in Mount Vernon and take my daughter to a nursery school in Pelham. So to find out that you're a resident of Pelham Manor nearly made my jaw drop through the floor!
I hope all is well with you and look forward to hearing more of your insights as part of the Cast of Dads team.
Regards and respect,
Jason
Thanks for your comment, Jason. My kids are two and three, and the older is finishing up his first year of nursery school. Perhaps we can rendez-vous sometime in town for a play date — Pelham farmers market starts up soon!
Ah, the Farmers Market…forgot that's just around the corner. And I am in full agreement with the play date idea…
